Group project - Partnership with "The Hunt Museum", Limerick, Ireland
MUSA (MUSeums for All)
Summary
MUSA is a mobile-first museum web app designed for Deaf users who communicate using Irish Sign Language (ISL). The app features ISL interpretation videos for artwork and artifacts, interactive 3D renderings for closer exploration, and games to support engagement and information retention.
Purpose
People with hearing disabilities often feel excluded in museum settings because sign language tours are not available. Alternatives like audio tours cater primarily to visually impaired visitors, and they find large blocks of text difficult to read and comprehend. These limit engagement and overall enjoyment.

My work
In this group project, I was responsible for the complete development of the website, covering both front-end and back-end development, as well as designing and implementing the database structure to meet the functional requirements collaboratively defined by the team. I conceptualized the name "MUSA" and ensured the site adhered to accessibility standards by integrating, for instance, ARIA labels and alt tags where necessary. Throughout the front-end development process, I collaborated closely with our designer to create a user-friendly and visually engaging experience. Finally, I deployed the site for both local testing and on our shared Trinity College Dublin SCSS server.
